ABOUT ME

Hi and welcome to my site:  I am Tony Crookes and I'm 26 years old.
I started practising martial arts at the age of 10 with Master Shabir Athtar.  At the age of 12 I was working as an instructor in classes at my parents' martial arts school and, after  I received my black belt in Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing at the age of 14, I started teaching lessons on my own.
My goal was to show my students what I had learnt over the years and to teach them well, so they would be better than I was.  I started training myself with weapons, nunchucks and the bo-staff as well as making up forms.  I found it easy to learn all this and so started to teach my students the same - something which I found I enjoyed immensely.
I achieved my 2nd Dan in Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing at the age of 18 and began teaching more and more at Ossett Martial Arts; the club run by my parents.   I progressed to creating martial arts parties and established a fun club which runs during school holidays.  I personally design and develop all the games which I use.

Film and movies

At a very young age I loved watching films, always wanting to be like Jean-Claude Van Damme.  I have been lucky enough to train with some of the best martial arts people ever, including the blue Power Ranger Mike Chat and my good friends Danny Ball and Liam Richards, who shot to fame on 'Britain's Got Talent'.
Over the years I realised that what I wanted to do was to be in films and movies and in December 2011 I got my lucky breakthrough starring as a future cop in the short film 'Diamond Jack'.  I thoroughly enjoyed being on set and found the whole experience amazing.
Following that, I was offered a part in the feature film 'New Beginnings' and things look to be going well.  I currently have three films lined up and a series in the pipeline.
I personally feel this shows how you can achieve any goals you want to, if you put your mind to it.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me Tony Crookes
